the IHRA working definition, city by city

IHRA adoptions

Decisions by cities and other local governments on the working definition of antisemitism of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), dated from council records where we found them and from secondary sources where we did not.

The table combines the decisions our searches found in council records with the lists kept by the American Jewish Committee, the Combat Antisemitism Movement and the Campaign Against Antisemitism. Most rows rest on those lists rather than on a council record, and each row's evidence says which; where two lists give different dates, the notes in the downloadable file record both. The lists are themselves incomplete, so the trend line shows the timing of the adoptions recorded and is not a full count of local adoptions. A date known only to the year is placed at 1 July of that year on the chart and the map and is marked in the table; decisions with no known date appear in the table only.

This is a work in progress. Corrections and missing adoptions, with their dates, are welcome.
